I'M MAY. 

May is a trauma-informed social worker, who has supported thousands of Canadian with mental health crisis issues for 10 years. She is now passionate about prevention.

May has worked in schools, hospitals, shelters and various levels of government. She is part of National counselling team at a major Canadian company with consistent client satisfaction rating of 4.9/5.

She was a sought out university guest lecturer for South Korea's social work department. She is also a published co-author for a women's empowerment book.

She is a natural educator and forever student. May intuitively brings positive energy to places that need it. You will feel totally relaxed and enlightened with her support. 

MY STORY

At age 7, May had her first trauma experience which continued to impact her mood, thoughts and sense of self negatively.

May grew up in an Asian immigrant home, where her well-intentioned parents were overwhelmed and overworked. As a result, she grew up with in scarcity, conflict and lacked emotional safety.  

Without proper healing, May was unaware that her past was projecting into the future. She found herself in academic probations, unhealthy relationships, victim of crime and grieving a sudden death of loved one.

It was years until May would find the guidance because of the lack of mental health education available.

Now, May enjoys a thriving business, healthy mind & body, and beautiful relationships.

Why Calm School Exists...

Calm School was created as a preventative, after 10 years of mental health crisis work in Ontario, Canada. I have worked with so many people who said they wished they learned about emotions, and trauma earlier.
